OXETACAINE + ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE + MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE

Suspension

This suspension is a combination of a potent antacid with a local anesthetic for rapid and effective relief from acid-related discomfort. Aluminum Hydroxide and Magnesium Hydroxide neutralize excess gastric acid, while Oxetacaine provides local anesthetic action on the gastric mucosa, relieving pain and burning sensation. Mechanism

Oxetacaine
Acts as a local anesthetic by blocking nerve conduction in gastric mucosa, providing rapid relief from pain and burning.
Aluminum Hydroxide
Neutralizes gastric acid and forms a protective coating over the stomach lining.
Magnesium Hydroxide
Neutralizes acid and provides a mild laxative effect, balancing constipation caused by aluminum salts.

Side Effects

  • Rare: Electrolyte imbalance with prolonged use

Contraindication

  • Hypersensitivity to any component
  • Severe renal impairment
  • Hypophosphatemia

Dosage

DRUG INTERACTIONS

  • Tetracyclines & quinolones: Reduced absorption
  • Iron supplements: Decreased absorption
  • Other oral drugs: May interfere with absorption (maintain gap)
